How much is your booking fee?
The booking fee is £200.00 and is deducted off the total package amount. The fee will confirm your date in my diary.
What areas do you cover?
As a Wakefield Wedding Photographer based in Yorkshire I have travelled throughout the country. There may be a small mileage fee if the distance is over a total of 100 miles. I have covered weddings internationally and would explain this in more detail should you wish to discuss it further.
How long have you been in business?
I am now in my 10th year as a wedding photographer
How many photographs do you take at an all day wedding?
There is no fixed number as each wedding is unique. Usually the number of locations, the time between the ceremony and the wedding breakfast, and the number of guests dictate the final number. You can expect to have over 300 pictures to choose from, but at larger weddings which have an earlier start this number can rise to 500+.
Do we need to provide you with a meal?
That would assist greatly. Although this is not a request and I can travel out for a meal. I am usually editing whilst you are eating
Do you have insurance?
Yes, all venues require that I have Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance and can make these available for you to examine.
When will our photographs be available to see after our wedding?
All your photographs are usually online in a password protected gallery between four to six weeks.
Do you offer a no obligation consultation?
Yes, I have a customer lounge area for you to discuss your requirements and browse through the many albums and slideshows.
Are you qualified as a wedding photographer and if so who with?
I am a member of the BIPP (British Institute of Professional Photography) which is an internationally recognised qualifying organisation with over 100 years of experience in qualifying, training, and supporting photographers. I currently hold a Licentiate qualification. I also hold the same qualification with the SWPP (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers).
Is there a written contract between us?
Yes, I provide a written contract that is signed by both of us, you are also provided with a copy for your records.
What albums do you use?
I use only the best albums from Graphi Studio, Mario Acerboni and a number of other companies. Please ask at your consultation to see these.
Can we pick our own images for our album?
Yes, all the packages that are available offer options of choosing your own images.
Can we have black and white images as well as colour and how do you decide which to include in our gallery.
All your images a photographed in colour with the odd exception. Although I do change some to black and white, these can also be changed back into colour or you may change colour ones to black and white. I hope that wasn’t as confusing as it was to write 🙂
Do you offer parents albums?
Yes I do, in most circumstances they are a smaller but exact copy of your main album. I do also provide individually designed parents albums with their choice of images and to suit their tastes.
We have been advised to look at photographer’s full weddings instead of just their best images, can we do this?
Absolutely, I would want every couple whether booking me or not to examine a photographers full wedding, this demonstrates their ability in all aspects of wedding photography.
Can we pick our own group photographs?
Yes, I will also help you to organise them into an order so that your family and friends enjoy your wedding day with the minimum of fuss.
Do you do a pre wedding shoot?
Yes I do. Most couples have never been professional models, so I will give you a few pointers on how to look your best on one of the most important days of your lives. This is an opportunity for me to build trust and confidence in my photographic ability. The photo shoot takes place on a mutually convenient weekday and at your reception venue but I would gladly carry this out at another location subject to availability and any additional costs that may incur.
Do you have any plans if the weather is poor on our day?
Yes, it is one of the main reasons I carry out a pre wedding meeting and photo shoot, it gives us the time to discuss other areas of your venue that could be used if it rains or the weather is very poor.
Can we change our wedding package to suit us?
Yes, I offer total flexibility when it comes to your wedding package, just let me know what you want and I will tailor it to suit you.
If we have a disc of images in our package, do we get the copyright?
This is an often asked question. In the UK copyright belongs to the person who ‘pressed the shutter’. So technically it cannot be given to another person. I provide you with a written letter that allows you to print images or use the images on the disc for your ‘own personal use’, ie. make slideshows with etc.. This letter is signed and accepted by any professional photo lab.
When do we have to pay the final balance?
The final balance is due approx 60 days before your wedding when we meet for your pre wedding photo shoot and to go over the finer details of your day and any changes in the timings.
How much notice do we have to give you to book our wedding?
I am now taking bookings up to and including 2015, so to guarantee my services I would advise booking as early as possible to avoid someone else booking your day. If you choose a summer wedding or bank holiday wedding, these dates tend to book early. It is quite difficult informing someone that I cannot cover their wedding even though they had been to a consultation. A completed contract and a paid booking fee is a guarantee of your date in my diary.
Do you have backup equipment?
Yes I carry a number of cameras, lenses and flashguns should an equipment malfunction take place.
Can my family and friends purchase any prints, canvases or digital files from you?
After your wedding your images are put online in a password protected gallery. Your family and friends can look through the gallery and purchase any of the images if they so require.
Are you the main photographer who will photograph our wedding or will you send someone else?
I am the main photographer and although I sometimes have second shooters or assistants, I will photograph your wedding. I never send someone in my place and only take one wedding per day.
What if we want to cancel our wedding or reschedule?
Please contact me as soon as possible, you will then be asked to confirm your cancellation in writing. Please note there may be a cancellation fee if your cancellation is within a certain time frame. Details of this can be obtained and is clearly defined on the rear of a signed contract. If you reschedule and I am available for your date then there will be little or no extra cost.
I notice you have a page of testimonials, would it be possible to speak to any of them?
I have a close relationship with the many brides and grooms I have photographed and I am certain that they would freely talk to you
