Over the years I have received some very kind words and testimonials from brides, grooms, parents and their guests.  Below is a selection.

Dear Ozzie,

Thank you so much for being the best photographer ever on our wedding day earlier this year. You were such a key part in the whole day and helped to make it really special.

The photos that were got are absolutely amazing – they couldn’t be any better! (which is why it’s so hard to chose our album).

Thanks for also putting everyone at ease throughout – your charm worked and even people who hate having their photo taken were so happy.

Thanks again for everything – you’re a star!

Love Sherry – Mount Pleasant Hotel

Ozzie,

Thank you so much for photographing our wedding, you were wonderful on the run up, on the day and the final results have blown us away.  The photo album is beyond our wildest dreams and we will treasure always.

We will highly recommend Di Vinci Photography.

With love from

Dan & Sal – Cannon Hall

Hi Ozzie,

Thank you so much for our pictures, they’re fantastic.  We’ve had a lot of friends say they are the most stunning wedding photos they have seen, so thank you very much.

Thanks Ozzie,

xx

Karen & Andy – Browsholme Hall

Ozzie is an amazing photographer, he knows how to make you relax on one of the best and busiest days if your life! Highly recommended x

Sara – Tankersley Manor

Di Vinci photography were brilliant. Ozzy helped make my amazing wedding day extra special and I would definately recommend to anyone.

Shaun & Kerry –

I would highly recommend Di Vinci Photography; fantastic pictures taken by friendly, fun photographers who put even the most nervous bride at ease (and I should know)!

Helen & Neil – Monk Fryston

The reason we chose Ozzie (Di Vinci Photography) to photograph our wedding is because he is so passionate about photography and after seeing some of his photographs, we could see just how much he cared & that he really understands what photographing a wedding is all about. We also thought his photography was very contemporary – his photographs just look like pieces of art & we definitely wanted that for our wedding!

Ozzie is really funny & easy to get along with – this was very important to us as we wanted to feel relaxed & to have fun on our day…he certainly didn’t disappoint – we got exactly what we wanted & much more!

It was a pleasure him being there on our day & his photographs are so amazing. The coverage of the whole day was very thorough – he had thought of photographing little details that we were so thrilled he had captured & he also managed to capture some great moments, “behind the scenes” of our guests.

Ozzie is very professional & at no point did we have to worry – he is very organised & we just knew that he would sort everything & help us whenever we needed it!

We cannot recommend Ozzie/Di Vinci Photography highly enough!

Thank you so much!!
Nicci & Phil – Gomersal Lodge

All my thanks too for everything you did to make Sherry feel so comfortable and relaxed on the big day (it was all about her!).

The photos look fantastic and help create even more wonderful memories of the day…..

Thanks and all the best

Matt – Mount Pleasant Hotel

We want to thank you for our beautiful wedding photographs. We had such fun for the whole day, and the pictures are a perfect reflection of how much we enjoyed it. All of our guests commented how hard you and your team worked throughout the day, and how good you were with the very many children! We really appreciated your patience and understanding, especially your sensitivity to Kathryn’s vision problems.
Having a comprehensive visual record of the day was, of course, incredibly important to us, and we’re delighted with the result. It has meant that Kathryn has been able to experience many of the visual details that she simply couldn’t on the day itself. You really captured everything, including humorous informal shots, all the group pictures we wanted, artistic shots of the venue, and plenty of great images of us! Thank you!

Rob and Kathryn – The Mansion

“We would just like to say a big thank you for doing a superb job on our Wedding day.Everyone commented on how friendly and professional you were.
The day itself flew by but we will always be able to relive those perfect moments just by looking at the photographs you captured.
We can’t thank you enough”

Gavin & Claire

“Ozzie, thank you so much for helping to make our wedding day so special. We loved every minute of it and cant wait to see the pictures! I normally hate having my picture taken but you made it relaxing and fun thanks again.

Helen and Marcus – Oulton Hall, Leeds.

Thank you for the photos which arrived today and our thanks for capturing Sally and Matt’s special day with such beautiful pictures.

Lorna Stewart, Aberdeen. – Burntwood Court Hotel

Thank you so much for capturing every element of our wedding day, even the smallest detail that we wouldn’t have even thought about. It really shows your attention to detail & professionalism.

The photos are a true reflection of both our personalities,. Even with Mikey avoiding the camera as much as possible you got amazing pictures that he loves.

We would highly recommend you, you far exceeded our expectations of a photographers role and kept us laughing throughout the day! The only problem I am faced with is choosing which photos I like best as they really are all fantastic.

Many Thanks!!!

Leanne & Mikey xxx – Kings Croft

Thank you Ozzie for capturing so beautifully the most amazing day of our lives. We are thrilled with the photos and how well you’ve captured the atmosphere of the day. You were a true professional and determined to get all the photos we asked for! Thank you for all your help on the day, we will treasure these photos and the memories forever.

Lucy & Adam – Bolton Abbey

Hi Ozzie,

Thank you so much for all your hard work to make our wedding photos amazing. Your planning and organisation made sure all the key moments were captured perfectly.
You went above and beyond our expectations and treated us like celebrities for the day.
Thank you again for sharing our special day with us and making us look more fabulous than we ever thought possible!

Sally and Vinny – Rogerthorpe Manor

Hi Ozzie,

Joanne and I would like to thank you for the fantastic photographs you took at our wedding.  We both absolutely love them and have had so much positive feedback from family and friends (as well as requests for copies!).  The way you blended both the traditional/contemporary and formal/casual shots has left us with images we will treasure for years.

We felt confident after our initial meeting that you understood what we were looking for in a photographer, and after a couple of conversations about the style and content we knew that we were in good hands.  Your flexibility, ease to work with and passion for photography were equally matched by your professionalism, both before and after the wedding as well as on the big day itself.

In particular we both love the shots where you had Joanne spinning!  They caught both the joy and spontaneity of the moment, as well as her fabulous dress.  The picture of us laughing during the ceremony (when we fluffed our lines!) still brings a smile to our faces, and those taken of our guests during the speeches perfectly capture the love and laughter of the day.

Thanks for everything Ozzie, we couldn’t have asked for more.

Kind regards,
Joanne & Damien – Thorpe Park

Hi Ozzie,

I think the photos are absolutely stunning and a fantastic record of my sons big day!
thank you
Julie –

Lauren & Michael – Bar 315

What an amazing photographer. Thank you so much you made us and our guests feel very special from start to finish. Our guests commented on how funny you were and how well you interacted with them. The shots you got exceeded our expectations and captured every bit of our memorable day, we cannot thanks you enough and will definately recommend you to friends and family.

Thank you so much. we had an amazing day, looking forward to seeing all the photos xxxx

Keeley & Andy – Wood Hall

“Ozzie spent time with us both beforehand to understand how everything
would fit together, which was greatly appreciated.  He was
professional and attentive throughout our big day and most importantly
the pictures he took were phenomenal, capturing the moment perfectly.”

Tom & Jackie – Holdsworth House

We booked Ozzie from Di Vinci Photography for our wedding after seeing pictures of a previous wedding he had done and I instantly loved them.

We chose to have the full day package which started from me getting ready right through to our first dance.  He added light humour and made everyone feel at ease and relaxed before the ceremony and blended in with my guests taking natural shots as well as group and family pictures throughout the day.

It was a wonderful day that went far too fast but luckily every moment was captured on camera telling the story of our day.

We found Ozzie very professional and he exceeded all expectations with outstanding photographs and would recommend him to anyone who was thinking about using either Ozzie or Di Vinci Photography.

Nikki & Carl’s Walton Hall Wedding Photography

Nikki & Carl are one of the most laid-back couples I have had the pleasure to photograph.  Carl is a budding photographer and was recently spoilt by Nikki with a brand new Canon 5D MK111.  I’ve never been one to talk about the equipment I use but I was very envious of his gift.  He now has no excuse but to take beautiful images.

Anyway back on track, Waterton Park is another of my favourite venues, surrounded by one of the best golf courses in Yorkshire and only a short distance form my home.

We actually started at Profiles hairdressers in Altofts, where the girls were partying as well as getting beautified 😉

Their ceremony took place locally at St. Mary’s Church in Altofts and conducted by David Teasdel.

The autumn colours were out in full at Waterton Park and even a little rain couldn’t put a dampener on the couple’s enthusiasm.

After the wedding breakfast we ventured back outside for some more ‘alone’ photos, taking in all the character of Walton Hall.  We also added a few night shots, which captured the warm ambient lighting on Walton Hall.

Here’s just a few of  Nikki & Carl’s favourites 😉

Bolton Abbey Wedding Photography

George & Lee’s Bolton Abbey Wedding Photography

It is always a pleasure to photograph weddings in a setting as beautiful as The Devonshire Arms and Bolton Abbey.  This part of country has fantastic vistas everywhere and is always appreciated better on foot.

George (Georgina) and Lee booked me when they saw my work at The Craiglands wedding fair back at the beginning of the year.  We hit it off straight away and after discussing how they wanted their wedding photographing, we just needed the weather to behave on the day.

As you can see, it started off a little cool and dark which makes for drama in the skies.  We had all the four seasons in one day, cloud, rain, wind and blistering sunshine.

As soon as we’d finished the family group photos and bridal party antics, we dodged a downpour and took shelter in The Priory – St. Mary’s at Bolton Abbey.

Just inside the entrance, which is open to the public most days, the stone work and colours jump out at you and we couldn’t resist not capturing a few romantic shots.

The Devonshire Arms looked after us all day and the evenings first dance was rounded off with George throwing her bouquet to a group of lucky ladies 😉

Waterton Park Wedding

Yvonne & Phil’s Waterton Park Wedding

Yesterdays weather was exactly what Yvonne & Phil wanted for their November Waterton Park Wedding celebrations.  I think Yvonne would have like some frost for that added winter theme.  It all started off at Waterton Park with bridal preparations, which turned into a Black Friday discussion amongst the Bridesmaids Kelly & Sarah and the hair and makeup artists.

I then joined Phil, Best Man Dave and the Ushers, Tim and Chris.  I didn’t realise what I’d let myself into.  The boys had already begun creating an album of photographs on their phones, some of which will never see the light of day!!!!

These were a crazy bunch of lads and were a pleasure to work with all day.

A quiet tender ceremony was followed by the more formal family and friend group photos, the brilliant Bridal Party and rounded off with some bride and groom photographs.

There were many funny moments during the day, one in particular was when Yvonne, feeling a little peckish had one of the mince pies that were served as canapes.  Phil was supposed to gently feed her the pie but instead shoved it straight into her mouth!!!! I know he will pay later for his huge error 😉

The island was covered with a fine mist and there wasn’t a breath of air, that is until we wanted to use the snow machine!!!!  The wind whipped up, throwing the snow everywhere including all over the couple’s heads and face, which took Yvonne’s breath away.

Not enough can be said for the couple braving the elements of a cold November day,  Yvonne’s poor wedding dress 😉

Yvonne & Phil’s wedding package included an wedding slideshow of the days events projected just before the first dance so that evening guests had an opportunity to witness the days events.  I’d like to add my special thanks to the DJ for all his help.

Have a great honeymoon guys and look forward to catching up on your return.

Photographic training courses

I’ve started to write this blog post a number of times and I am still not 100% happy with it.  I have eventually come to the conclusion that I shouldn’t put that much pressure on myself to get it ‘perfect’.  There’s a great quote by Salvador Dalí who says “Have no fear of perfection – you’ll never reach it.”

It is with this in mind that I have decided to start blogging again and what better way to start my renewed vigour than to tell you about my mentor and trainer,  Julie Oswin.  I have been a wedding photographer for over 10 years now and I have always been keen to perfect my craft (there’s that perfection word again, lol).  Anyhow I’ll get on with it!!!

A few weeks ago I attended the stunning Hoar Cross Hall in Burton Upon Trent with a number of friends and colleagues as the guests of Julie Oswin FBIPP.  MCGWP.

Julie is the only woman in the UK to hold a Master Craftsman with the Guild of Photographers and a Fellowship in weddings with the BIPP. These are the highest distinctions within the field of photography.

She had undertaken to produce the wedding brochure for Hoar Cross Hall and kindly invited me, together with a number of other wedding photographers to participate and watch her work.
With a real bride and groom, Lisa & Tony (married in May this year) and beautiful weather, Julie demonstrated her craft to all, starting off in the Royal suite which was aptly named and beginning with bridal portraiture.  Even Tony managed to get in on the act with some window light groom’s portraits.

Throughout the day Julie explained the fundamentals of why she had chosen the backgrounds, poses and her angle of approach.  Classical posing and lighting was the order of the day, which is a skill most need to strengthen in their own wedding photography.
We consisted of a small group, which worked very well, capturing some stunning images, mixed together with light-hearted banter.

Lunch was served in the Hall’s restaurant and we were truly spoilt for choice.  Hoar Cross Hall is renowned as a spa and the food on offer covered all manner of tastes.  Some of the delegates, naming no names 😉 took advantage of the hospitality and chose to have seconds and thirds!!!  Suffice to say, the staff could not have looked after us any better.

After lunch, Julie worked around the grounds of the Hall until we came upon the Church of Holy Angels (situated within Hall grounds).  The church dates back to the late 19th century and is described as a Neo Gothic masterpiece.  We were invited by the Reverend to photograph our bride and groom inside the church and I have to say it was truly breathtaking.

If you are thinking of taking your photography to another level and considering mentoring or photographic training courses, you can contact Julie by visiting her website HERE

I have put a selection of the days images below:

Woolley Hall Wedding Photography

Melanie & Phil’s Wedding – Woolley Hall Wedding Photography- Wakefield

Yorkshire wedding photography took me to my home town of Wakefield.  As a Woolley Hall Wedding Photographer I had the pleasure of photographing Mel and Phil’s wedding.  The weather once again was perfect, in fact it got a little too hot for Phil’s Mum, who took a little break form the rays and went inside.  The Hall’s grounds were impeccable and truly showed off the skills of the many gardeners that work there.

Here’s just few pics of the day.

Crathorne Hall Wedding Photography

Kathryn & Neil’s Wedding – Crathorne Hall Wedding Photography- Yarm

Yorkshire wedding photography invariably takes me to all four corners of Yorkshire.  Crathorne Hall is a magnificent Edwardian stately home situated in Yarm, North Yorkshire, surrounded by the Leven Valley and the Yorkshire Moors.  This hotel is part of the Hand Picked chain and is one of the finest venues I’ve had the pleasure of working in.  The first picture is one of the best views of the Hall and rumour tells the bench was placed in this location because the current owners pet dog used to sit there before sadly passing away.

Kath & Neil searched Yorkshire looking for a wedding venue that would take their breath away, without doubt they achieved it when they first saw and ultimately fell in love with Crathorne Hall.  Just take a walk around the grounds and you will be captivated by it’s charm and splendour.

Please leave a message at the bottom of this post.

Hazlewood Castle Wedding Photographer – Engagement

As a Wakefield wedding photographer, it takes me to some stunning venues and on Thursday I met the Beautiful Bex & Ben for their pre wedding shoot and meeting at Hazlewood Castle.  I won’t talk or complain about the heat!!!! but suffice to say I’m glad we waited until the sun was lowering.  I had a great time trying to get some serious shots, even though both of them couldn’t stop laughing and probably don’t have a serious bone in their body.
